Almost Christmas Time

So its time for another bullshit post about how I may actually start writing again. Its only been almost 2 years since I finished the last piece of work. Snazzy.

New idea, new attempt. Whatever.

Not what i would have liked but at least i wrote.

Only about 400~ words last night. Kind of sad and embarassing. Having a hard time writing the siege. Just gonna skip past it and rewrite it later when I care. Its the characters that matter eh?

Dear god.. Can it be true?

I have actually worked on my new book three days in a row now... Last night finally got down to writing the first chapter after some more note taking. Got 1,000 words. Its a start...

Could it be sobriety means I can write again?

Well, last attempt was august. Neat.

Ok, so now its October. Going to try... Again... Have a cool idea this time at least. We'll see how it goes.

Heh. I said things were calming down.

That was 6 months ago. I was lying obviously. I had a new idea last night for the first time. We'll see what happens with that. (I'm sure in another 5 months i'll look back here and say "well poop".

Anyways, attempt to start writing attempt #23424.

Another dry night.

Well I found a new fish market and just had to make monkfish and scallops last night. No writing got done, sadly. Tonight probably is more of the same. Oh well. I'll catch up eventually... Just like with sleep.

Biscuits and Gravy

Wow. Its been a long time since I wrote anything in here. I never did finish the trident. However, things are finally calming down after the big move and the big promotion, and I'm writing again.

Only got about 2500 words so far, it was tough to resurrect the story. But I hope it will be a good one.

And Jacob is born.

Jacob Robinson officially exists. All 2200 words of him. Day one has been shifted by a day, due to extra planning but has happened now. So theres the that.

Jacob is going to be one of the best characters I've ever written. I can feel it.

Wrote a bit over 2000 words last night to finish the book. 40 days. Start to finish. I did it god damnit. I can do anything now. That's the fact of it.

Alright. Celebration dinner tonight, and then edit the telamon tomorrow.

There's good news and there's bad news.

The good news, I hit 65,000 words last night. Thats right mother fuckers. I wrote 10,000 words in one god damned night.

The bad news is that I still have another 5K to write. I decided, wisely, to stop at midnight because I was incoherent and perhaps a little drunk.

The emotional payoff of patricia sacrificing herself needs to be there, and the smarminess of the ISI director needs to be there as well.

That requires (relative) sobriety, and at least a few hours of sleep.

So the book'll be done tonight. But by god, I set out to write 65,000 words in 39 days, and MOTHER FUCKER, I DID IT!

Is this really going to happen?

Last night, I wrote another 3200 words... I'm now down to 10,000 words left to write. Holy. Shit. What's more, I woke up at 5 am this morning and completely planned out the rest of the book. I'm so god damned excited, I can't help it.

Then editing the telamon, and biggity bam, we're up to doing some new books stuff halfway through april! OOH YEAH!

How did I pull this shit off!

What the shit happened?!?!!

Holy CRAP. Last night something got into me. I wrote 6500 words. All of a sudden, I am apparently back on track.

13000 words left. I'm giving myself till Friday to finish it, but this is a feat man. A FEAT.

Got a new puppy.

So yeah. Didn't write as much as I wanted. I still have 19K left to write and its Monday. It ain't looking so good!

Finally some forward momentum...

Its down to the wire. Bottom of the ninth and all those lame sports analogies. I have five days and 26,000 words to write...

Its doable, but damn its gonna be a BITCH. I should really try and get 4,000 tonight. Gonna need 6,000 tomorrow and 6,000 on Sunday in order to have ANY chance at finishing this thing by Wednesday. Then I think I should just get unrepentantly drunk next Thursday!

One step forward, two steps back.

I ended up throwing away a lot of what I wrote Sunday. It was just going in the wrong direction. Im behind where I was before now, so that sucks...

Its going to be tough.

Past the halfway mark now.

I've got around 35,000 words. Not bad, but not where I wanna be. I am going to have to break my fricking balls to finish this bastard...

We'll see how it goes...

After half a bottle of Tullamore Dew and some serious keyboard punishment, I wrote 5000 words last night.

Is any of it good?

I have no fucking idea. The parts I remember were.

Sigh.

At least the count is at 28000 now.

Too much time off...

After last week, I went days and DAYS without writing, in prep for visiting guests. Then I didn't do shit over the weekend. I'm so fricking behind...

I wrote about 3850 words last night, so thats good. Its going to take that kind of writing to finish by April 1.... Still the goal.

Then finish the next book by June 1, and start submitting on that date as well.

Up to around 23000 words now. almost a hundred pages.

Still got 42000/14 = 3000 words a night. Holy crap. 3000 a NIGHT. Gonna take some marathon shit to pull this off.
